Everything Electric Sydney: A Record-Breaking EV Extravaganza

Sydney’s love affair with EVs hit a new high over the weekend as Everything Electric SYDNEY returned for its third edition, shattering records and proving, once and for all, that Aussies are ready to embrace electric mobility. With more than 31,000 attendees flooding through the Sydney Showground, the event wasn’t just a success—it was a statement.

More than 102 EVs were on show, with over 6,400 test drives completed across the weekend. If there was ever a lingering doubt about local enthusiasm for electrification, this expo put it to rest. The event saw Australia-first public launches from major players including Audi, Ford, Skoda, Tesla, Volkswagen, and emerging Chinese brands like Deepal, Xpeng, and Zeekr, turning the show floor into a battleground for EV supremacy. Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Chris Bowen, took the stage to discuss the future of Australia’s EV policy, while Robert Llewellyn—the man behind the Fully Charged YouTube channel—hosted a packed fireside chat on ‘Elections and Electrons.’ The talk came amid growing pressure for stronger government incentives to accelerate EV adoption and improve charging infrastructure, a sticking point for many prospective buyers still on the fence about making the switch.

The expo’s CEO, Dan Caesar, called the event a ‘watershed moment’ for electric vehicle adoption in Australia, likening the atmosphere to the legendary motor shows of the past. Standouts were Xpeng’s human-sized drone, an urban copter of sorts. Segway launched some new scooters (no legal on public space in NSW), and Savic had test rides on their latest electric motor cycle.
