Since making its debut down under, DEEPAL has been moving at lightning speed to stake its claim in Australia’s growing EV market. But rather than just dropping a car on our shores and hoping for the best, DEEPAL has actually been paying attention to what Aussie drivers have to say.

We reviewed the DEEPAL S07 HERE, and HERE and it looks like DEEPAL took those comments seriously.

And the result? Some key tweaks to the DEEPAL S07 that aim to make life on the road just that little bit better.

Longer Service Intervals – Because Who Likes Extra Trips to the Mechanic?

First up, a big win for owners: DEEPAL has doubled the S07’s service intervals from 10,000 km to 20,000 km, while keeping the annual check-up in place. Even better, that pesky initial 5,000 km service? Gone. This means fewer trips to the service centre and more time enjoying your EV on the road, exactly as it should be.

Driver Monitoring System Tweaks – Less Nagging, More Driving

Driver monitoring systems are great in theory—keeping us safe and making sure we’re paying attention. But let’s be honest, sometimes they can be a little… overenthusiastic. DEEPAL is tuning its system to ensure alerts—whether audible, visual, or physical—better align with Aussie driving expectations. No word yet on whether that means fewer overzealous beeps, but here’s hoping.

The Psychotic Cruise Control Gets a Smarten-Up

Cruise control should make driving easier, not feel like you’re wrestling with a car that can’t decide if it wants to slow down for a bend or not. DEEPAL’s engineers, in collaboration with CHANGAN Automobile, are fine-tuning the system to smooth out speed adjustments. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) will no longer be fused together in their braking decisions, making for a more natural driving experience. More local road testing is planned, so expect even more improvements down the line.

What This Means for Aussie EV Buyers

DEEPAL’s quick response to customer feedback is a refreshing change in an industry where updates can often take years to materialise—if they happen at all. With a rapidly evolving EV market, it’s good to see a brand that’s willing to adapt to local needs instead of just expecting us to conform to global settings.

The changes might seem small, but they make a big difference in the day-to-day experience of owning an EV. Longer service intervals save time and money, a better driver monitoring system means fewer unnecessary interruptions, and smarter cruise control makes for a smoother drive.

If DEEPAL keeps this up, it might just carve out a solid spot in Australia’s increasingly competitive EV landscape.
