Haval H7 and Cannon PHEV Go Public at Everything Electric

GWM takes its all-new Haval H7 and a plug-in hybrid Cannon ute to Everything Electric at Sydney Olympic Park, 18 to 20 September.

Both meet the public on 18 September, the opening day of a Friday to Sunday run. Neither is a full EV, unstead uses a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, and GWM hasn’t priced either of them as of yet.

Haval H7 Trades Curves for Corners

Haval H7 is a new design direction for Haval SUVs here. Boxy and upright, where H6 is smoothed off at every edge. It joins the H6 range rather than replacing it, pitched as the rugged, adventure-flavoured option. China sells the same car as Haval Raptor. The Australian car uses GWM’s Hi4 plug-in hybrid four-wheel-drive system, so the adventure styling has 4WD hardware behind it. GWM’s showroom plan already ran to 9 new models this year, and the pace hasn’t slowed.

Cannon PHEV Goes In Under Cannon Alpha

Cannon Hi4-T PHEV is a plug-in hybrid dual-cab. It goes into the Cannon range beneath the larger Cannon Alpha Hi4-T PHEV already on sale here. Hi4-T isn’t a new badge to us, it’s the system in Tank 300 Ultra, which we drove. Cannon Alpha also gained a 3-litre diesel, so a single ute family now covers plug-in hybrid and big diesel at once. GWM calls the Cannon PHEV Australia’s most versatile ute.

Hi4-T for the utes, Hi4 for the SUV. That gives GWM plug-in hybrid hardware under an SUV and a ute on the same stand.

What GWM Hasn’t Said About Haval H7

GWM hasn’t published outputs, battery capacity, electric range, or a towing figure for either car. Prices and further specification details to follow. Both go into public view from the opening day, and Everything Electric runs 18 to 20 September at Sydney Olympic Park.
