Haval Jolion Petrol Gets Refresh, Hybrid Models are New

The Haval Jolion has been a hit since it debuted in Australia three years ago, selling a whopping 29,417 units. Now, the folks at GWM are sprucing things up with a refreshed lineup, including both petrol and hybrid models.

The petrol Jolion is getting a bit of a makeover. Picture this: a snazzy new front grille, a bumper with chic black accents, and a refreshed rear bumper. Inside, they’re making life easier for the driver with a new 4-way adjustable steering wheel (it used to be just 2-way, so that’s a win).

The petrol models are trimmed down to just two FWD grades, Premium and Luxury, both boasting a 1.5L turbo engine with a 7-speed DCT, delivering 105kW and 210Nm. Fuel consumption is a reasonable 8.1L/100km.

As for safety and tech, the Jolion keeps all the goodies that made it a favourite in the first place. You’ll also notice a big, bold GWM badge on the tailgate, part of GWM’s plan to stamp their identity more prominently.

But wait, there’s more! The Jolion Hybrid (now based on a different overseas model) is getting a major update too. It’s got a new sportier exterior design, complete with a slick front and rear, and a multilink rear suspension setup for a smoother ride. Despite the jazzy “Jolion Pro” badge at the back, they’re keeping it simple and calling it the GWM Jolion Hybrid in Australia and New Zealand.

Under the bonnet, the Hybrid model sticks with the trusty 1.5L petrol hybrid engine, cranking out 140kW and 375Nm. It’s also impressively frugal, sipping just 5.1L/100km.
