Since its roaring debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Hyundai’s new IONIQ 6 N has been setting pulses racing — not bad for an EV that promises to out-snarl petrol sports sedans. It’s Hyundai’s first all-electric N model built for drivers who still think “EV” means “emotion vacuum.” Spoiler: it doesn’t.
Beneath that low-slung, wind-tunnel-honed body (just 0.27Cd) sits a reworked dual-motor setup producing a monstrous 650 PS (478 kW) and 770 Nm of torque. Launch Control drops the 0–100 km/h sprint to a searing 3.2 seconds, with a 257 km/h top speed. The 84 kWh N-spec battery feeds an 800 V architecture capable of a 10–80 % charge in around 18 minutes on a 350 kW ultra-fast charger. Range? Around 487 km (WLTP) if you’re being good — far less if you’re grinning like a maniac.
The brand’s “three-pillar” N philosophy — Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar — has never looked so sharp. The IONIQ 6 N’s re-engineered chassis features stroke-sensing ECS dampers, lowered roll centres and a toughened underbody, all feeding grip to the new HN-marked Pirelli P-Zero 5 tyres. The result: unflappable poise through fast corners and rock-solid stability at triple-digit speeds.

Hyundai’s trick N e-Shift and N Active Sound + tech simulate the gear shifts and soundtrack of an old-school performance car — complete with pops and bangs that’ll make your neighbour’s cat relocate. Meanwhile, N Grin Boost unleashes full power for 10 seconds of pure drama, and N Drift Optimizer lets you choreograph your sideways antics like a West End dancer.
Inside, there’s Alcantara bucket seats with Performance Blue accents, a flat-bottom N-Pasubio steering wheel with programmable N1/N2 buttons, and ambient lighting that flashes in sync with your virtual shifts. It’s equal parts cockpit and nightclub.
And because Hyundai knows most buyers still need to get milk, SmartSense ADAS adds lane-keeping, blind-spot collision avoidance, adaptive cruise and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2. Brutal on the track, civilised in traffic — think Thor in a tuxedo.
