Navman MiVue Pro 4K Dashcam comes as a ($369) front only camera or a ($529) dual camera.
Navman is an Australian company that has built a reputation on reliable, well-designed, well featured dashcam and Navigation units. Navman promises the new MiVue Pro 4K and MiVue Pro 4K DC are their best ever. The company has won the Canstar Blue award for dashcams, based on features and quality on their products of the past.
Navman MiVue Pro 4K records in 4K 3840 x 2160P at 30 frames per second (fps), an 8MP 1/1.8” low light sensor, which is claimed to allow more night light for clearer video footage under low light conditions. The rear camera has a STARVIS sensor, a field of vision of 135°, and records at 30fps in 2560 x 1440P or 2.5K.
As with other Navman dashcams, MiVue Pro 4K has ADAS capability to warn of lane departure or imminent crashes. In our tests, we have turned off all but the recording and speed camera warnings. We also muted all sounds, but some will find audio warnings handy. MiVue Pro 4K includes a lead vehicle warning if it moves off, something very few cars have built in. The MiVue Pro 4K DC will warn you if someone is following too close behind (if rear camera is fitted).

There is voice control to make noting incidents easier, and the g-force sensor will trigger in an accident. The video has GPS detail, and can be easily transferred from the SD card if needed, with or without the app.
We have a Dashcam (Navman Sensor XL DC) as a long-term unit, and apart from the facts and figures, the easy phone and PC app, and excellent quality of recording, there is something else: peace of mind.
The one thing no dashcam story can do, is make you “feel”.
Over the last few years, the emergency recording has run up vast number of driver misdemeanours. Not only that, I’ve been able to relive wonderful memories, keeping some aside for the future. Touch wood, I’ve never needed to provide an insurance company with evidence, but I can tell you about a road-rage incident where all I needed to do was point to my Sensor XL DC to dissipate and de-escalate a situation.
While I can’t tell you how the MiVue Pro 4K Dashcam performs, I can tell you that the much older Navman Sensor XL DC is clear, the app is easy to use, and the unit is discrete and easy to install.
