Polestar 4 Nabs “Best of the Best” at 2025 Red Dot Awards

Design darling Polestar has once again turned heads and won hearts—this time with the Polestar 4, which just scooped the coveted Red Dot “Best of the Best” award for Product Design 2025. That’s not a participation ribbon, darling—it’s the design equivalent of a standing ovation.

Not to be outshone, Polestar 3 also grabbed a Red Dot Label in the same category, proving that Scandinavian minimalism and progressive electric design are having a very good year indeed.

The international jury praised Polestar 4’s bold design choices, particularly the missing rear window—yes, they really ditched it—which offers a futuristic twist and improves rear aerodynamics. Frameless mirrors, dual-blade headlights, and celestial ambient lighting (inspired by our very own solar system) only add to the car’s star quality.

Blending the sleek silhouette of a coupé with SUV practicality, Polestar 4 defies the usual EV design clichés with something sharper, smarter, and sexier. The Red Dot jury swooned over its ability to harmonise technical sophistication with clarity and restraint—a bit like a Bond villain dressed by COS.

Philipp Römers, Polestar’s Global Head of Design, beamed: “This recognition is a testament to the dedication and passion of the Design Team here at Polestar.” He’s not wrong—Polestar’s design team has now racked up awards like they’re collecting frequent flyer points. Previous Red Dot wins include nods for Polestar 2, Brand of the Year, and even their design book.

With Red Dot being one of the world’s most respected design awards, this latest win solidifies Polestar’s reputation as a leading light in the EV universe. And while the cars are already attention-grabbing on the road, this win puts them squarely in the design hall of fame.
