Set against the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, the favourite LGBTI convertible was the LEXUS LC 500. This is the first time LEXUS has made an appearance at the GayCarBoys Top 10 cars. Yes, I know, there are 20, and that’s because you told us you wanted it! A big fat V8 was said to be essential as the internal combustion engine dies a slow and painful death.

Without being at all cheesy, gay and Lesbian buyers like Subaru. This joint project with Toyota GR 86 is a favourite especially with younger LGBTI readers.

11: Abarth 595 Competizione

Fiat created the Abarth 595, a car Carlo Abarth would be proud of. LGBTI buyers loved it for the sound and the fact that is suited a city lifestyle. The manual was the one to buy.

10: Jeep Gladiator

Wrangler and Queer as Folk go hand in hand, and Frank said it made him feel butch. Frank, if you have to say the word, “butch”, you probably aren’t. Never fear, you’re as cute as a button. Mind the handles as you get in. Shorter boys need an extra hand up.

9: BMW M440i Gran Coupé 

There is plenty of crackle and pop. BMW is a favourite with gay readers and consistently appears in the top votes. Not only that, but the gays talk with their wallets, and those who can, do.

8: Polestar 2 Dual Motor

Polestar is Volvo’s performance sister. LGBTI buyers told us they wanted something different. They liked being able to charge at home, and the Google Auto OS interface. It now has Apple CarPlay and Android auto.

7: Kia EV6

The GT-line EV6 review ignited a social media frenzy. We’ve shown you a photo of the up-coming EV6 GT which some LGBTI buyers say they’ve been waiting for. It costs a bunch, but the 3.5 second 0-100 can’t be bettered unless you pay another few hundred grand.

Mustang is in the same spot as last year, but this time LGBTI readers voted for the convertible as their ride du jour.

5: BMW 230i

Yet another BMW made the grade, with Lesbian buyers opting for the mid-range BMW 230i.

They liked the power and handling without the brassy show-off features of the M240i.

4: Tesla Model Y

Model S, X, and 3 have been replaced by Model Y as a buyer favourite. Gay buyers in particular, found the Model Y’s extra space an advantage. None loved the looks, but they say that isn’t why they voted for, or bought, the Tesla Model Y

3: Mini Electric

Mini and gay go hand in hand. This year, it is the electric Mini getting the gong. Even though the range is small, the love is big.

2: Nissan Z

Newly released, Nissan Z filled a gay void, so I’m told. The automatic was most voted for, as the LGBTI buyers/voters like a town coupe that is easy to drive.

1: Subaru Forester

The same spot 5 years on the trot is Subaru’s Forester SUV. The mild hybrid was voted the top dog by gay buyers, however Lesbians said all Foresters with brilliant.
