The 2022 Acura NSX Type S  set a new production car course lap record of 1:32:784 at California’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach street circuit.

That beat the existing record by almost nearly 3 seconds. The Long Beach Blue Pearl NSX Type S was driven by Ricky Taylor.

“Long Beach is such a fun track, but definitely challenging with so little margin for error,” said Ricky Taylor after the record setting run. “Thankfully, the new Acura NSX Type S is not only crazy fast, it’s also remarkably easy to control at the limit. It’s a very special car and perfectly suited for a track like this.”

2022 Acura NSX Type S

The 2022 Acura NSX Type S improves its previous performance with an enhanced twin-turbocharged V6. The turbo setup is shared with the NSX GT3 Evo race car, and the total output is now 600-horsepower and 492 lb.-ft. of torque.

Honda has restyled the NSX Type S with a new front fascia. The wider air inlet increases engine cooling and the NSX GT3-insprired rear diffuser helps by improving aerodynamic performance. Every angle is not only meant to be beautiful, but helps airflow in some way.

This will be the last year NSX will be made, with only 350 Type S editions being built. US customers get the majority of that allocation with 300 cars heading stateside.
