The OMODA E5 EV SUV arrives mid-year 2024, which Chery says will cement the brand expansion and commitment to delivering sustainable vehicles to Australian consumers.

OMODA E5 EV is uses a single 150kW/340Nm electric motor with a 0-100km of 7.6 seconds. A claimed 15.5kWh/100km results in a 430km (WLTP) range with further details to follow.

OMODA E5 EV’s cabin has a 12.3” infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof.

OMODA E5 EV comes in Standard and Premium models and will join the existing OMODA E5 range. Chery nameplates include OMODA 5, Tiggo 7 Pro, and the 7seat Tiggo 8 Pro Max SUV. The latter will land in April this year.

Chery is fairly new to the Australian automotive landscape, and since the modest 2023 launch, has sold 6,000 units. Chery aims for 60 dealers covering Australia’s city and rural centres.
