Karma REBORN Amaris Extended hybrid – Fiery Electrified Elegance

Karma Automotive (reborn) has lifted the covers on the Amaris, its first-ever production two-door coupe, promising a heady mix of exclusivity, performance, and eco-conscious engineering. Slated for production in late 2026, this striking grand tourer borrows the jaw-dropping ‘Comet Line’ design cues from the postponed Kaveya super-coupe, blending carbon-fibre beauty with an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain.

In a move that acknowledges shifting consumer appetites, Karma has also announced a strategic pivot for its previously all-electric Gyesera sedan. Instead of going fully electric, the upcoming four-door will now share the Amaris’s EREV philosophy, offering the best of both worlds—EV torque and range anxiety-free road-tripping. Meanwhile, the Kaveya has been delayed to 2027, giving it a bit more time to perfect its all-electric theatrics.

Under the sculpted clamshell bonnet, the Amaris flexes a turbocharged four-cylinder ICE generator, promising sub-3.5-second 0-100 km/h sprints and a top speed of 265 km/h. And let’s talk about those ‘swan doors’—a dramatic touch that ensures maximum curb appeal and minimal effort when making a grand entrance.

If that weren’t enough, the Amaris rolls on 22” forged Constellation wheels, complemented by an aero pass-through spoiler that whispers ‘downforce’ while reducing drag. Even the side exhaust pays tribute to classic American muscle—because who said hybrid technology had to be silent?

Karma Amaris is clearly embracing its rebellious streak, bucking the full-EV trend while many luxury brands scramble to readjust their strategies. The EREV setup means owners can enjoy electric propulsion with the backup of a petrol generator, making long-distance cruising as effortless as it is exhilarating. This strategy positions Karma as a brand catering to those who crave cutting-edge tech but aren’t ready to fully commit to an all-electric lifestyle.

Inside, the Amaris is expected to continue Karma’s tradition of handcrafted luxury. While full details remain under wraps, expect a driver-focused cockpit draped in premium materials, cutting-edge infotainment, and all the creature comforts befitting a high-performance GT. Given Karma’s penchant for sustainability, we wouldn’t be surprised to see ethically sourced leathers, recycled materials, and an interior ambience that feels as exclusive as it is responsible.

The decision to delay the Kaveya and rework the Gyesera signals that Karma is playing the long game, responding to market realities while refining its lineup. The Amaris, then, becomes a crucial halo car, a statement of intent that blends performance, exclusivity, and an evolved take on electrification.

With pricing still a mystery, one thing’s clear: the Amaris is gunning for the top shelf, offering the best of electrification without the tether of a charging station. Whether it’s worth the wait, only time will tell—but Karma is certainly making a case for hybrid heaven.
