Top 10 Best Things About the Electric Volvo EX30 – VIDEO REVIEW

We all love a new car, and Volvo’s brand new EX30 feels fresh and shiny, not just another tired, dinosaur-burning, chariot from another century.

The Thor’s Hammer lights have a makeover but it is the drivetrain and interior that have had the laying on of hands. The 315kw Performance AWD Dual Motor is a pet scorpion with a sting in the tail. We drove the EX30 recently in the Barossa Valley and loved it.

The pretty-as-a-peach princess of power is deceptive in every way. She looks demure and calm, but get her dander up, and she is a minx on fire. The 4-paw position of the range topper seems to have a geo-magnetic attachment to the track.

Fettling the power mode is a faff even though the normal mode is tons, but with the full sails unfurled, EX30 gracefully slaps you upside the head on the way through to the hundy in 3.6 seconds. What a corker. In the full review, Gio (aka Max in the video) stomps on the pedal and you see the KPH counter clocking a quick sprint to the top.

There are downsides to having a single screen. I’m sure once you’re used to it, all is tickety boo.
