Cadillac is making its debut in Australia and New Zealand with its all-new, fully electric MY25 LYRIQ SUV. Combining luxury, innovation, and performance, the LYRIQ brings Cadillac’s iconic blend of technology and heritage to the EV market.

Pricing and Availability

The Cadillac LYRIQ will be available in two variants: the Luxury model starting at $117,000 and the Sport model from $119,000. These prices include GST and Luxury Car Tax but exclude additional government charges and on-road costs. Customers can order their LYRIQ online or visit Cadillac Experience Centres in Sydney and Melbourne.

Jess Bala, Managing Director for GM Australia and New Zealand, expressed excitement about the LYRIQ’s launch: “LYRIQ sets the standard for the future of Cadillac in the region. We believe it will resonate with those who seek a modern, electric luxury vehicle that stands out in every way.”

Power, Performance, and Design

Both the Luxury and Sport models are equipped with an all-wheel-drive system powered by a 102kWh battery, delivering an impressive 388kW and a range of up to 530km. With Cadillac’s Ultium battery enabling a near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution, the LYRIQ promises a dynamic and agile driving experience. A quick 10-minute fast charge adds 128km of range, addressing range anxiety for long journeys.

Visually, the LYRIQ is a stunner. The exterior features 21-inch alloy wheels, a full glass roof, and the signature Black Crystal front grille. The streamlined design is made possible by the elimination of internal combustion engine air-flow constraints. The dual-panel power sunroof and hands-free liftgate add to the luxurious feel.

Luxury Meets Technology

The LYRIQ’s interior is just as impressive, featuring a 33-inch curved diagonal LED display that integrates the driver information centre, navigation, and infotainment. With over a billion potential colours, the display is both a visual and functional masterpiece. The cabin is further enhanced by a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system, which includes headrest speakers for a fully immersive sound experience.

Front-row passengers will enjoy power lumbar massage seats, while the rear seats are heated and ventilated — a rare touch of luxury for rear passengers. For those who love personalisation, the LYRIQ offers 126 interior lighting colours, ensuring a customised atmosphere for every drive.

Cadillac’s next-generation Active Noise Cancellation system also enhances the serene interior, counteracting road noise through the AKG speakers. Specially designed wheels further reduce noise, making the LYRIQ a peaceful sanctuary on wheels.

Luxury vs. Sport: What’s the Difference?

The Luxury and Sport models share the same performance capabilities, but their aesthetics differ. The Luxury model features polished chrome detailing for a more refined look, while the Sport model adopts a darker, more aggressive design with blacked-out grille accents and dark-finished wheels. Both models include Cadillac’s signature five-link independent suspension and premium dampers, ensuring a smooth ride whether on city streets or open highways.

Cadillac Heritage Meets the Future

While the LYRIQ is a bold step into the electric future, Cadillac honours its rich heritage throughout the vehicle’s design. Intricate details such as knurling on various components and back-lit laser-etched patterns pay homage to the brand’s iconic past, reminding drivers that the LYRIQ is more than just a high-tech EV — it’s part of Cadillac’s storied legacy.

The Boys’ Take

The Boys have had a lively discussion about the LYRIQ. Casper, with his taste for fine luxury, will likely be all over the power lumbar massage seats. Travis, known for his love of performance, might be surprised by how quickly the LYRIQ moves — possibly giving his RAM truck a run for its money in a drag race. Raffy will probably find himself customising the lighting system to match his every mood, and Nico is bound to appreciate the serenity of the noise-cancelled cabin, especially paired with the AKG sound system for his road trip playlists.

The Future of Cadillac Down Under

The MY25 LYRIQ is Cadillac’s bold declaration that the future of luxury is electric. Combining a powerful Ultium battery, striking design, and a feature-packed interior, the LYRIQ sets the standard for what Australians and Kiwis can expect from luxury motoring. Whether it’s the elegant refinement of the Luxury model or the edgier feel of the Sport, Cadillac’s electric SUV is poised to redefine the luxury vehicle market.

The LYRIQ offers a fusion of heritage and cutting-edge technology, making it a strong contender for those seeking a modern, luxurious EV. With its high-end features, smooth performance, and Cadillac’s signature attention to detail, the LYRIQ represents a new era in electric motoring.
