UK and Irish readers, meet Ohme — the Cork-based company that’s become the largest home EV charging provider in the UK and Ireland, now partnering with Ford, Suzuki, and a growing list of automakers.
Ohme has been busy. The company is now the official home EV charger provider for Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Volkswagen Group, Genesis, Hyundai, Smart, Suzuki, and XPeng in the UK — and has just added Ford to the roster across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Ford’s “Power Promise” gives new EV buyers a free Ohme charger and installation as part of the deal. Suzuki is doing the same for e Vitara customers — free Ohme charger for a limited time.
£750,000 Paid to UK EV Drivers
During the Crowdflex energy trials (May 2024 to September 2025), Ohme paid out more than £750,000 to participating EV drivers. The UK’s largest home energy flexibility trial showed that when customers plug in more often, Ohme can intelligently manage charging to help the grid — and reward drivers for it.
At its peak, Ohme scaled to 20,000 customers per trial, flexing almost 150MW of electricity. Plug-in rates rose 40% compared to control groups.

Park & Charge for Shared Parking
The new Ohme ePod S brings smart charging to shared parking — apartments, offices, and rental properties. With the UK Government’s OZEV grant rising to £500 from April 2026, the timing is right.
Building managers get a platform to monitor and control access. Drivers get their own app to start, stop, and pay for charging — potentially at lower prices than public chargers.
How Cheap Is Cheap?
On Ireland’s Energia EV Smart Drive tariff (9.42c/kWh off-peak), a full charge for a Suzuki e Vitara costs less than €6 for 426km of range. In Northern Ireland, Ford Puma Gen-E owners can charge for £7.53 using Power NI’s off-peak rate.
Ohme’s chargers connect to the grid in real time, automatically shifting charging to the cheapest and greenest windows — plus they have solar boost for homes with panels.
