Zeekr’s recently released 007 has EV batteries upgraded to support 5.5C ultra-fast charging that allows vehicles to charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes. it is also worth noting, Chinese competitor GAC-Aion had previously slated a 10-80% charge in 8 minutes using its 6C fast charger back in 2021.

In any case as with all electric vehicles, the ZEEKR 007 will only be able to charge as fast as the supply to which it connects. The vast majority of Australian chargers are 22kw AC with the fastest being 350kw. In order to fully utilise the ZEEKR 007, an 800v charger is required.

The record charging speed record is thanks to the new the new lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries when connected to the new Zeekr V3 ultra-fast charging piles. The Chinese brand is set to launch in Australia later in the year and is yet to confirm whether any of the ultra-high speed charging will be available here.

The new battery management system (BMS) keeps charging at a stable and fast rate at temperatures as low as -10c and allows a charge from 10% to 80% within just 30 minutes. Furthermore, official charging test data shows that when the all-new Zeekr001 with its Ningde Times 95 degree Shenxing battery is charged with Zeekr V3, it was able to charge from 10% to 80% in 11 minutes and 28 seconds. A 5 minute charge added 264km.

Zeekr has installed more than 500 ultra-fast charging stations in China, with a total of 2,700 800V charging piles. Zeekr’s charging network is set to grow to 1,000 ultra-fast charging stations in 2024 and more than 10,000 ultra-fast charging piles in 2026.

ZEEKR has opted not to compete on price in a race to the bottom. Instead, it aims to present in the same genre as other Geely products such as Polestar, Volvo, and Lotus.

In its home market, ZEEKR would be able to take advantage of a full environment more akin to a TESLA, but better. In a market TESLA previously had to itself, the Chinese car makers have surpassed the American brand by a significant leap.

Zeekr Tech Day

Zeekr released the urban Navigation Zeekr Pilot (NZP) assist. The system allows intelligent driving assistance on urban roads with navigation delivery in some markets at the end of August. “Eva” is Zeekr’s Kr AI in-car assistant and is created to be a considerate driving companion. It can assess a situation and give suggestions to Zeekr users to help provide a better in-car experience.
