This marks the second year in a row a Ford vehicle has earned recognition from North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year jurors, following last year’s top honours for F-150 and Mustang Mach-E.
Ford is relying heavily on the retro model’s success which has so far been a huge win. Bronco is Ford’s flagship model for the outdoorsy types at the 4×4-exclusive Built Wild vehicles. There has been a lot of interest in the reinvention and rebirth of long defunct cars.
Meanwhile, KIA continues its meteoric rise and rise with their EV6 and Carnival winning GOOD DESIGN awards in the Transportation category.
Carnival was designed in the California design studio. Karim Habib, Head of Kia Design Center, said: “Securing these GOOD DESIGN awards is an endorsement of the approach we took with the styling of the Kia EV6 and Kia Carnival, and is a tribute to the collaborative efforts of our talented international design team. It truly has been a pivotal year for us; we launched our brand new design philosophy ‘Opposites United’, the ethos of which is already transforming our cars, and we are determined to ensure Kia keeps challenging the boundaries of automotive design.”
