Hyundai Sonata, VW Passat Wagon, and Honda Accord Hybrid REVIEWS
Are large Passenger Cars Able to Compete with Large SUVs?
We answer that question this week in our 3-way test and review with 3 excellent large cars, Honda Accord Hybrid, Passat 206TSI AWD R-Line, and Sonata N Line.
In our full review and comparison, we give the full on-road price (correct in NSW, check the brand websites for other states), plus a compressive list of specifications, and a brochure for each.
We will compare pricing, engines and other specifications, and we’ll give each a point for a winner in each of 20 criteria. Only one will win.

Just to whet your appetite:
The Passat is, and has always been, a highly spec’d model that is incredibly comfortable. Sonata shows how far Hyundai has come with this chic sedan, and Accord Hybrid brings the only part-electric car to the tests.
COVID messed up deliveries, and has extended production times, but each brand has a unique way to deal with the delays.
Meanwhile, we take each car on a set route, including freeway, city, and twisty bends, to give them a thorough workout.
In Brief:
Honda’s hybrid spends part of the time in EV only mode. Sonata is one of the most elegant cars on the road, and Passat stops just short of being the go-anywhere AllTrack that we reviewed recently.
Each is sensational on the road, and each has a unique driving feel, but which is the best all-rounder?
Does the AWD of the Passat give it the edge? Does the EV ability of the Accord Hybrid win through? Does the elegance and outright power of the Sonata make it top dog?
You’ll have to wait for the video!
