Among the updates is “Lexus Connected Services”, that among other things, adds features and function to the infotainment system.

The upgraded LC coupe is available from this month, and has a free 3-year subscription to Lexus Connected Services. The service comes with a phone app that lets LC owners look at on-board data such as odometer reading, fuel level, distance to empty, recent trip info, and the coupe’s last known location.

In addition, they can lock and unlock the car, open or close the windows, and will be notified if any doors, windows, boot or hatch are left open, or if the hazard lights are left on. Not only that, owners can remote-start the car.

The system is connected to the internet enabling cloud-based navigation, and safety features including Automatic Collision Notification, SOS Emergency Call as well as Stolen Vehicle Tracking.

This rather useless Drive Pulse feature watches the driver and the way he or she handles the big Lexus. It then gives them a rating out of 100. I cannot think of why that would ever be something you’d want to know
