Nürburgring content creator Misha Charoudin is gearing up to compete at the 2024 World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) in the high-performance IONIQ 5 N.
Hyundai’s involvement in WTAC began in 2019 with a modified i30 Fastback N in the Clubsprint class for modified road cars, serving as a test-bed for high-performance innovations. The same year, Hyundai unveiled the iMax ‘Drift Bus’, a 300-plus-kW twin-turbo V6 special developed by Hyundai Australia’s R&D.
In 2023, legendary Japanese ‘Drift King’ Keiichi Tsuchiya showcased the IONIQ 5 N with impressive WTAC demonstration laps. Now, the IONIQ 5 N is set to compete at WTAC 2024 as the event’s first-ever EV entry.
“Following IONIQ 5 N’s debut at last year’s WTAC with Keiichi Tsuchiya, competing in 2024 is the logical next step,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia CEO Ted Lee. “We are excited to have Misha Charoudin race a prepared IONIQ 5 N at WTAC in August.”

The IONIQ 5 N will race at Sydney Motorsport Park as a lightly modified road car with mandatory safety equipment, track wheels, and tyres, all prepared by Hyundai Australia.
Misha Charoudin, known for his engaging Nürburgring videos, has been racing since 2011 and has built an international following with his authentic commentaries. “This is a dream come true,” said Charoudin. “My journey in motorsports began in 2011 with the Dutch Time Attack Championship. I was captivated by Hyundai N models’ performance, especially their success at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. The IONIQ 5 N has impressed me and my audience, amassing over 1.1 million views on YouTube and 20 million on Instagram. Driving the IONIQ 5 N at WTAC is a privilege.”
Charoudin added, “Returning to Time Attack racing completes my career circle, making this moment special. I aim to showcase the IONIQ 5 N’s performance on a global stage.”
More details about the WTAC 2024 IONIQ 5 N and Hyundai’s activities will be announced closer to the event.
