Sex on wheels is the new range of Range Rovers, including the hot new Range Rover Sport.
New Range Rover Sport SV pumps a bunch of power into the drivetrain that gives the range topper a 3.8 second 0-100. C’mawn! That’s bonkers.
Out go the superchargers, in favour of not 1, but 2 turbos. The new 467kW/750Nm 4.4-litre Twin-Turbo MHEV V8 petrol is 44kW/ 50Nm up on the old Supercharged 5.0-litre V8. Should you find a place to do it, the top speed is 290 km/h.
76kg of weight savings have optional world first 23-inch Carbon Fibre Wheels, and optional Carbon Ceramic Brakes, but like on an episode of Oprah, everyone gets aerodynamic enhancements including a dead posh carbon fibre bonnet.
The special models are so exclusive, that the SV EDITION ONE is an invite-only model.
Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director, Range Rover, said: “New Range Rover Sport SV exemplifies Range Rover’s philosophy, not just as a bold evolution beyond its Range Rover Sport SVR predecessor, but also in the personalised approach we are taking with our most discerning clients.”

Handling
New Range Rover Sport SV’s 6D Dynamics suspension system uses hydraulic interlinked dampers, height-adjustable air springs and pitch control. The system doesn’t need anti-roll bars, yet claims say that body is almost eliminated.
It is set between 10mm and 25mm lower than run of the mill Range Rover Sport units. Drive modes alter the height using chassis and suspension systems. There is Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, All-Wheel Steering, Torque Vectoring by Braking, Configurable Dynamics and Active Locking Rear Differential which matter to those who’ll notice.
Nick Collins, Executive Director, Vehicle Programmes, JLR, said: “New Range Rover Sport SV delivers an optimum blend of supreme performance, unrivalled desirability, capability and refinement. It’s a visceral addition to the Range Rover Sport line-up that powerfully demonstrates the world-class expertise of our high-performance specialists.”
Range Rover Sport SV gets a new rear subframe, new suspension links, revised geometry, and new, faster electric power steering.
The Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tyres 305-section rear tyres are 20mm wider than the 285-section front tyres. The system is rear-biased to give drivers old world feeling with new world grip..
The big suv can pull 1.1G on all-season tyres, a 22% improvement on the old model.
Improved brakes give buyers a choice of standard mixed-metal Dual-Cast and optional Carbon Ceramic braking technologies.
Sound and Senses.
Body and Soul Seat (BASS) is a system Range Rover claims to be a “multi-dimensional audio experience with wellness benefits”. Front seat passengers to feel the sound using the tactile audio system by SUBPAC TM.
SUBPAC’s AI software uses transducers aligned to front seat occupants’ backs, to produce high fidelity audio. In addition, there are 29-speakers in the 1430W, Meridian Signature Sound System
Body and Soul Seat Wellness programmes can influence heart rate variability (HRV). High HRV means lower stress levels, and higher relaxation.
Other enhancements
Other models include the P460e plug-in electric hybrid, and its new transmission, combines a 3.0-litre six-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine and an electric motor for an output of 338kW, and a 0-100 of 5.5 seconds.
The optional Stormer Handling Pack includes Dynamic Response Pro, All-Wheel Steering, the Electronic Active Differential with Torque Vectoring by Braking and Configurable Programs. To store personal driving modes.
We’ve seen Jaguar Land Rover entertainment system grow and improve. Pivi Pro4 is the lateast and greatest, and has a 13.1-inch floating glass screen.
Sidebars sliders give fast access to volume and climate control no matter which menu is open. JLR says claims 80% of menu options are only two taps away. Haptic feedback is now a familiar but essential part of modern systems and once used is always wanted.
Users can take advantage of Amazon Alexa, but there is also the native Land Rover voice as well. The external connections also provide Over-The-Air system updates.
New Country Road Assist uses Adaptive Cruise Control and navigation data to change speed, depending on bends, conditions, and speed limit.
