While most EV owners prefer to top up their charge at home, motoring club members at NRMA, RACV, RACQ and RAC have enjoyed a 20% discount at Charge Fox “public” chargers. The locations of club-branded chargers were few and far between, but 20% made a road trip that little bit easier on the pocket.
Purse strings have been tightened as power prices increased, and the clubs have decided to cut the generous 20% to 10%.
Prices vary dramatically over the different kinds of chargers. Some of the destination chargers that were once free are now 70c / kwh, and fast chargers are frequently out of order. The pricing is completely unregulated and is at the whim of the unit owner. We suggest checking the apps prior to departure.

What is Chargefox?
Think of Chargefox as a management system that overseas a charger network. The units themselves are owned by other entities. The Chargefox app is one of many apps that allows EV owners to see and plan charging as needed.
It doesn’t always mean the chargers are available or working properly.
