Can an EV be Better than a Petrol or Diesel Car.

This is one of those times where no one is going to be happy, because EVs are better than ICE vehicles in every way that matters. Most of the critique comes from gronks who have never driven a battery operated vehicle, except a golf cart.

“You can’t charge it,” they bleat. The charging infrastructure is as soft and squidgy as a new baby’s cheek. Of course it is going to be able to do triple summersaults when its fully trained, but for now it has a safety net and a big-ol rope because ladies and gents, you can’t expect, in a few years, what it took ICE vehicles 100 years to have.

Remember, you once had to buy your petrol at a chemist, so stop clutching your pearls and take a breath., and, oil is extremely volatile pricewise, if you’ll pardon the pun.

Charging out of the way, we come to design and the driving experience. Even in the most humble LEAF, the travellers encounter the blissfully silent ride of a magic carpet on a cloud.

As you move up the ladder, many more shekels are shelled.

Clever IONIQ5 has a nifty flat floor, looks chunky, yet cutting edge at the same time.Tthe gorgeous Taycan looks and feels like an Arabian thoroughbred. The interior feels no different to a V12 monster. Both are gym-fit hunks in their own ways.

ABOVE: Electric Cars including electric classic cars by Lunaz

Almost every car maker is now offering an electric model now, or in the very near future.

Performance is a lay-down Misére. EVs give the ICE equivalents a pantsing every single time. Genesis GV70 has an “electrified” version. It isn’t a ground-up EV like Tesla, but at $127,800 gives the performance Teslas a run for their money.

Even the hottest of hot hatches can’t manage performance like that, and they drink like drag queens.

Even at it most expensive, filling an electric car costs half of a petrol sibling. The EV is nicer in traffic, and unlike any fossil-fuelled filly, can be topped up bit little bits of sun and wind.

One final thought, regardless of what someone who has googled for 10 minutes says, oil is not a renewable energy source.
