There is a small car-maker in Texas called Hennessey.

They make hypercars from regular mainstream brands such as Ford, RAM, Dodge, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Jeep.

They’ve taken a regular V8 Ford F-150 Raptor R, and created the ‘Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000’. It has a 1,000 bhp / 850 lb-ft engine, making this humble off-road pick-up one of the quickest and most powerful in the world.

It uses a 2.65-liter supercharger, high-flow induction, larger fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines, and a new supercharger belt.

The company has been creating these masterpieces for 30 years of ‘making fast cars faster.’ Hennessey’s engineers use the Predator V8 under the hood of the Raptor R, which shares architecture with the Ford Mustang GT500. The latter is car that Hennessey upgrades to more than 1,200 bhp. After fitting the supercharger, the team uses its in-house suite of dynos, plus perform extensive on and off-road evaluations at Hennessey’s testing facility. This delivers VelociRaptoR 1000 with manufacturer levels of quality and reliability, backed by a 2-year / 24,000-mile Hennessey warranty.
